Racheal Stone asked:
The entire buzz around resveratrol always used to amaze me. The very thought of looking years younger and fitter by consuming this miracle herb was gratifying. Consequently, I decided to give it a try. I benefited, but only after toiling hard and learning from the blunders I committed. Here are the 5 most critical lessons I learnt out of the whole resveratrol experience:
1. Never Rely On Natural Sources
Natural sources of resveratrol like grapes, peanuts and wines lack grossly in meeting the bodily requirements of the component. These contain mere traces of this miracle potion and thus are better substituted with natural supplements.
2. Free Is Actually Not Free
As regards to those infomercials teeming with free trial packs on offer, my experience says that a greater chunk of these is a hoax. Scammers find easy targets in the garb of such offers and a consumer more often than not ends up being duped amid the entire thing.
3. Ascertaining Adequate Resveratrol Content Is A Must
Unless the supplement of your choice contains a minimum 50 percent concentration of the component, it is not going to do any good. The daily bodily requirements for 20 milligrams of the component must be met for it to show effective results.
4. A Balanced Diet Is Necessary Too
Apart from consuming this wonder potion, it is necessary to combine it with a balanced diet to yield results. A fit body and strong health provide the basic framework for the potion to induce anti-ageing and youth retention benefits.
5. Correct Storage Makes All The Difference
Resveratrol degrades rapidly under the influence of heat, air and light. It needs to be protected from these influences and proper storage techniques become extremely important here. If not stored properly, the component would yield little or no results.
To enjoy maximum benefits off this potion, take these very seriously. The component is beyond doubt fraught with amazing health potential but to actually realize it, paying heed to these lessons is of utmost importance.

Racheal Stone asked:
With the ever increasing list of celebrities and health experts swearing by the benefits of resveratrol, the component is aptly creating sensation in the health circles. All the excitement apart, it becomes extremely important for a consumer to be able to look through the hype while going in for resveratrol or the consequences could be disastrous. These 5 rules of resveratrol would help you avoid such a situation:
1. Shop From Reliable Sources
While on a lookout for that perfect supplement, remember to head straight for an established, well reputed source. This would ensure that you get a quality supplement and are able to enjoy the best benefits off this product.
2. Never Opt For A Cheaper Variant
A cheaper alternative must be refrained from as it is likely to be low on quality as preservation techniques usually cost a lot. Preservation of the component from heat, light and air is quintessential to maintaining its goodness. A supplement procured at dirt cheap prices would invariably be compromising upon this and would be thus ineffective in yielding results.
3. Be Careful While Signing Up For Promotional Offers
Promotional offers such as free trial packs more often than not turn out to be marketing gimmicks. Scammers are in wake of such opportunities to mint easy cash. It is therefore important to sign up for such offers only after checking upon the reliability of the claims.
4. Do Not Rely On Natural Sources
It is important to understand that while natural sources of resveratrol such as grapes and wines offer greater opportunities for an unadulterated usage, these are better not relied upon. The simple logic behind this is that these contain mere traces of the component and thus are unable to singly deliver results.
Supplements on the other hand provide adequate concentrations of the component.
5. Avoid Stress
Avoiding stress induced by modern hectic lifestyle is important or your tryst with this potion could be a disaster. Also, a balanced diet is important to make the supplement work.
Do not miss out on these thumb rules while you are on a resveratrol diet. With these by your side, dodging your age is going to be a cakewalk.

Ric Hawkins asked:
If you are like me, you probably find it bewildering the different Resveratrol recommended dosage levels that you find. Well the truth is there are no set levels to work with, only guides.
Many companies out there will have you believe that if you take 200mg a day, you will lose weight overnight and the list goes on.
Resveratrol is a natural and wonderful nutrient, and no side effects are known to date, so you cannot overdose. But it is important to find a quality supplement that uses natural 50% trans Resveratrol, as this is the most active type. Resveratrol recommended dosage can only be estimated but from my research 20-50mg a day for adults seems to be the norm. It will perform even better if it is combined with other synergistic ingredients, like ginkgo biloba and green tea extract for example.
This is by far the most effective method as the combination of other natural nutrients will provide far more benefits than a stand-alone pill could ever achieve, and help to prevent a greater number of potential threats to your health.
You may not notice the effects immediately when taking the Resveratrol recommended dosage, but if the research is right, and millions of dollars are now going into it, it could really help you to live a healthier and longer life. If taken with a quality multi supplement, you will quickly notice things like improved vision, sharper memory and more energy as I have, differences you would not get from a single Resveratrol dosage.
The Japanese have long known about it healing powers, getting it locally from the Knotweed plant and now we here in the West are finally waking up to the awesome powers of this nutrient. The future certainly looks bright as it is already being linked to preventing cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and heart disease to name but a few.
If you get the right Resveratrol recommended dosage, in the right supplement, your future health can only benefit immensely, and many serious health problems can potentially be avoided.
Visit my website today if you would like to learn more about the synergistic health supplements which I personally take, including Resveratrol.

Rob R Carmichael asked:
Pure Resveratrol has now been offered as one treatment for one of the biggest killers in the U.S and Western Europe.
Dr Oz’s’ recent Resveratrol endorsement comes as intriguing news to many Americans and Westerners alike, and is central to longevity and having a healthy heart.
If your heart is in good spirits, then it’s mostly a reflection of how clean your arteries are as they are enabling your heart to function at its “optimum rate”.
The U.S and the West have some of the worst artery related statistics in the world so reports that there are now Resveratrol tablets available to treat this pandemic comes as welcome news.
Resveratrol is a polyphenol which grows naturally to help protect plants from dangerous bacterias.
Found in its highest concentration in the Japanese root, Knotweed and the Muscadine grape skin, if consumed over prolonged periods of time has now been medically proven to naturally cleanse and scrub your arteries.
In Okinawa, Knotweed is consumed in their staple diet and has also been used for centuries to treat a number of ailments.
These include the treatment of allergic and inflammatory disorders as well as offering lipid therosclerosis medication and liver ailments to assist in the recovery of Hepatitis B.
In fact, the people of Okinawa have some of the lowest rates of cancer sufferers in the world, and the fact that you stand and 86% chance of more likely developing cancer in the U.S than you do if you were born and raised in Okinawa is a startling and baffling statistic.
Scientists are still trying to unravel the effects “pure resveratrol” has on our immune system, but it is clear their is more to resveratrol than has so far been medically proven – through the eyes of western science.
In fact we in the west are in some ways arrogant when it comes to understanding and believing medicinal treatments from other parts of the world, but where the west may boast it’s technological advancements it certain lacks the credentials for boasting longevity as its strength.
Whether it’s fast food, power foods or freezer food you consume, all these diets will continually abuse your arteries each day by lining your arteries with manufactured toxins so having the ability to naturally scrub your arteries each day without exercise is a first.
However, if you do consume a healthy diet and exercise regularly, Dr Oz believes that if you consume “pure resveratrol” each day for prolonged periods then you can potentially extend your life by 10 or even 20 years.

Mark Juliano asked:
The burning question asked by so many consumers, patients, doctors, medical practitioners and scientists – is it the Resveratrol, wine, alcohol or grapes – that provide all the medical benefits that have been so widely reported?
The simple answer is yes!
Scientists discovered the French Paradox decades ago, and determined that despite a high fat diet, the French lived longer and healthier, and the causes had largely to do with their daily dose of red wine. Other studies have investigated grape skins, grape seeds, and whole grapes with positive results. Countless scientific university studies (Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Marywood University, Yale, University of Michigan, University of Connecticut, Wake Forest, Oregon State, University of South Carolina, Ohio State, and many more) have proven that wine grapes, wine, Resveratrol, Quercetin, polyphenols, and even alcohol in small quantities provide significant health benefits.
When visiting Dr. Joseph Baur at the University of Pennsylvania he said that Resveratrol is only one of 19 compounds found to increase SIRT genes, and increase longevity and abate age-related illnesses. Seventeen (17) of these are found in red wine grapes. He also told me that it is definitely the interaction among Resveratrol, Quercetin, and all the other polyphenols that provide the bioactivity and bioavailability in animals and humans.
By what mechanism does this interaction take place?
In the scientific world, that’s like asking why your best friend is a nice person. There are many factors to consider. It’s relatively straightforward to test an individual compound like Resveratrol or Quercetin, but testing a blend of polyphenols is much more difficult. Still, for example, it is known that Resveratrol stays in the blood stream longer when consumed as red wine, versus from a supplement. Of course the nutraceutical supplement is of higher quantity, but Resveratrol-alone is less bioactive, though when mixed with other polyphenols like Quercetin and red wine extracts, it becomes much more bioavailable. Many studies are underway and are unlocking the mechanisms for this interactivity among polyphenols including Resveratrol.
This is why Resveratrol, Quercetin (#2 SIRT gene activator and activator of Resveratrol), and a 90% polyphenols blend from whole red wine grapes in ideal. This precise blend was studied by Dr. James Smoliga in 2006 at Marywood University, and it was shown in sedentary (average) subjects, that strength, endurance, cognition, and memory were significantly improved.
It’s just a matter of time before scientists discover the precise interaction among Resveratrol, and other red wine grape polyphenols. They know there is a positive interaction, and know that Resveratrol-alone, Quercetin-alone, and red wine grape polyphenols alone all have positive benefits, and work in concert with one another. All that’s left to figure out is how.

It’s undoubtedly a milestone in the health and fitness industry. Featured in the Oprah Winfrey Show, 60 Minutes and CNN, as well as in other health fitness broadcasts, print and online media, Resveratrol has become the most sough-after wonder drug in the market today. Its phenomenal rise in popularity came after pundits have learned that it is a great wine extract. But it has resulted in countless brands carrying the Resveratrol wine extracts. Choosing which one to get can be quite confusing especially to the novice health buff wanting to enter the Resveratrol fitness world.
But putting aside its immense popularity, you may wonder if indeed, this amazing health supplement is worth your time and money. There are other health supplements that specialize in one or two health benefits. You could also consult with your doctor to confirm if you are ready to take in health supplements at all.
Is Resveratrol Worth Getting?
As an informed and cautious consumer, you don’t have to take all the media’s word about how good and effective Resveratrol is. You can always exercise due diligence and make your own research on the Resveratrol extract. But from where I stand, the answer is clearly a YES. Here are some of its benefits:
• Increased metabolism to burn calories and fats which makes it an effective fat loss diet supplement
• Increased cardiovascular performance
• Prevents diabetes
• Enhances cell function and regrowth to slow down the aging process to make it a true anti-aging supplement
• Enhances energy levels
• Enhances sex drive and performance

Jack Coburn asked:
Unfortunately there is no straightforward answer to this question, as much depends on whether:
you are looking for positive or negative side effects you are discussing trans, the natural form or cis, the synthetic form you choose a high strength or a low strengthRegarding the last point you may not be aware of the purity or strength of a supplement, as many companies don’t tell you this, but more about that later.
However, as it is necessary to approach this question from somewhere – lets first take a look at what Resveratrol is and then explore from there section by section.
What is Resveratol?
It is a Phytoalexin formed by plants to defend against injury and fungal infections. This substance occurs naturally and is found in all parts of the grape and other fruits such as mulberries.
Trans-resvertrol and other polyphenol supplements are extracted from the grape seed, the skin of the grape and red wine. Other valuable supplements from the trans type include:
procyanidins catechins quercetin gallocatechins procyanidinsCis-resveratrol is not as pure as the trans type. Commercial supplement manufacturers generally extract this type from plant sources such as peanuts and the Japanese Knotwood.
Back to the original question
It is clear to see that much depends on what type of Resv your supplement contains when it comes to purity and strength and for this to be known you are relying heavily on the integrity of those manufacturing and promoting a particular product. Bad practices you may encounter include:
cheaply manufactured goods badly sourced raw ingredients unscrupulous use of filling agents bad blending protocols no proper testing of raw materials product may not contain what it says it doesThis does not have to be a problem as there are companies with an excellent reputation who are honest and upfront about what they put in their products.
Another important consideration is that there are many similar supplements that work well with Resv to improve the positive side effects and likewise the negative effects may be worse.
Thankfully there has been research by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences into trans-Resveratrol to establish the safety of the pure form.
They found:
the highest levels in grape products were obtained from red wine dietary-supplements were mainly oral, but a topical cream was also available in human studies with the natural form no adverse effects had been reported at levels of 5-10mg (NB- No mention of potency which could be anything from 5-50% rezv produces a synergistic effect and amplified potency when combined with compounds that have antimutagenic, cardioprotective or antioxidant properties it increases the effect of estrogen the cis type interacted more so (NB – This could be a problem if taking the contraceptive pill etc)The low down on negative side effects
As you can see even the above research does not provide all the answers although it does point to problems with doseage of cis and estrogen levels. If you take a look on the Internet you will see that any reported negative effect seems to be minimal, but the problem again points back to knowing exactly what is in your compound. This is essential if you don’t want to put your health at risk.
Positive effects
Rezv is produced as a protection against pathogens that injure the grape and may also be helpful for human. Research, mainly with animals has demonstrated that it can be:
anti aging improve the health of your heart and circulatory system aid weight loss cure herpes simplex virus improve arthritis help at time of menopause instead of HRT support the immune system against cancerIf you are considering this type of supplement there is no doubt of its benefits, but there is a lot more you need to be aware of about how to find a good product so that you only experience the positive, not negative resveratrol side effects. Read on to find out more:

Tina Bardo asked:
Is resveratrol the real deal? Can it really peel BACK the hands of time just like magic? What is the REAL truth about this potent, powerful yet still mysterious anti-oxidant, and what does the future hold for all of us who take it?
Fact is Often MORE Fantastical than Fiction…
And if you believe some of the experts, and even SERIOUS scientists who are studying resveratrol right now, the facts about resveratrol are amazingly exciting.
Resveratrol may extend active and healthy life well beyond the century mark (100 years old) for many of us….who are reading this right now It may END obesity, and faciliate SUPER fast fat loss….EVEN in people who refuse to go on a diet Resveratrol may turn back the hands of father time….reversing or dissolving wrinkles and aged appearance from the INSIDE out. It may stop, resverse or even eliminate many cancers and other devastating diseases
And much, much more.
Remember this, though. Much of the resveratrol research is in it’s infancy. A lot of the above, while super exciting…..is also still somewhat speculative. There is a growing amount of REAL research being done into this powerful compound and studies are being done at a FEVERISH pitch. And if you are someone who pays attention to the cutting edge science of wellness and anti-aging, it’s a very exciting time to be watching some of this unfold for sure!
But know THIS to be true….because it is
Over time, the big drug companies are now getting involved. Some have even tried to PATENT some forms of resveratrol, and will try to sell proprietary drugs to capiliazie on the coming craze. So stay healthy now….and look for good, and effective and INEXPENSIVE ways to get resveratrol into your diet while you still can. (without being pillaged by big PHARMA…which unless we ALL act, is certainly the next “act” for resveratrol products..:-(

Pirene Truong asked:
Resveratrol is a great food supplement that claims to have the health benefits that would surely help in the person’s cardiovascular health and in preventing cancer. It is proven that a reliable Resveratrol dosage that is found in red wine extends the survival in mice. But how is this applicable to human beings?
There has been no scientific evidence to determine the right dosage of Resveratrol intake one should get especially if you are taking capsules. This data is as of March 2009. The right dosage may not be determined unless it will be given to a considerable number of samples who would agree to be monitored until 10 to 20 years after and prove that this certain dosage id helpful in long term use.
Although, the certain Resveratrol dosage is not determined, studies show that this phytochemical is helpful when taking supplements. These are some of the benefits that this food supplement claim, for one it can lengthen the lifespan. This is because this phytochemical is a very potent anti-oxidant slowing the aging process and protecting the body from the damaging effects of the free radicals.
Another claim is that it can counter the effects of the high fat diet that a person has. Even if you take a high fat meal, the capsule form of this phytochemical can reduce the risks up to 30%. This is also known to fight many diseases. Researches show that Resveratrol can help fight cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease to mention some of the conditions. This is also known to increase the person’s metabolism and endurance and thus this will help a person have more energy to burn the extra fats.
Although the right Resveratrol dosages have not been found out by through the researches that have been done, however, studies show that a certain amount of Resveratrol when taken by human beings can be very helpful. It is for you to decide if you should seek help from the professional in taking this supplement. Although the right Resveratrol dosage has not been determined, it is for you to decide whether you will enjoy the benefits of this phytochemical now or wait for 10 to 20 years for the right dosage before finally deciding to take this supplement.

Nicole McDaniels asked:
Are you a fan of red wine? If you are, most probably you have heard of Resveratrol, which is one of the major factors why red wine is very popular around the world. This is a powerful and healthy antioxidant found largely in red wine and in the skin of grapes. In this article, we will tell you the Resveratrol Supplements Dosage so that you will know the right dosage that you should take for ultimate benefit of this amazing nutrient.
Resveratrol became popular when a medical study proved its wonderful effect in improving the condition of the liver. Moreover, it also helps neutralize the blood sugar so diabetic people should also be on the lookout for this amazing nutrient. It helps them enhance their insulin sensitivity. Most importantly, this nutrient maintains a healthier and stronger body in order to fight weight problems especially obesity. This is possible as it elicits SIRT1, the protein responsible for regulating the energy in the body. When this happens, the body is able to burn those stored fats leading to weight loss, which is why it is not only diabetic people who are looking for the proper Resveratrol Supplements Dosage, but also those who want to lose weight.
The truth is there is no standard dosage for taking this nutrient. About a decade ago, scientists discovered that what makes red wine healthy is because of its Resveratrol compound. Until now, many people drinking red wine as per their doctors’ advice and that is because red wine is good for the heart. However, there is no clear-cut advice yet as to Resveratrol Supplements Dosage. What we can see are just guidelines provided by various companies. Some say that a person should have 200 milligrams of this antioxidant a day while others say about 250 milligrams. It is best if you stick to the normal dosage that is 20 to 50 mg. a day for adult people, but make sure you get the genuine product containing at least 50% of Resveratrol.

One of the sources of Resveratrol, a type of phytoalexin, is grapes. This phytoalexin is a known potent anti-oxidant that has the great benefits that can help people in maintaining their health and can aid in fighting certain diseases. Resveratrol grape is one helpful way of maintaining your health and since this phytoalexin is very helpful to one’s health, you may want to know more about what it is and how it helps.
Resveratrol grape is the Resveratrol that can be found on the grape skin. This is called the trans-Resveratrol that has many benefits that people can enjoy. This is the Resveratrol that has the anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogen and the antioxidant properties that people may find beneficial. Studies show that Trans-Resveratrol, an anti-oxidant found in the skin of the grapes, can block the actions of the carcinogens, it also protects the body from the damages that free radicals may cause. This is also helpful in maintaining a good coronary health. This helps in lowering the risk of arteriosclerosis, heart attack and stroke. This is because Resveratrol found in grape skin increases the level of the high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or the good cholesterol and lowering the levels of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) or what we also know as the bad cholesterol. This is also known to prevent the sticking of the fats in the bloodstream thus promoting a better blood circulation and a healthy heart.
There are a lot of benefits that you can get from Resveratrol, especially the ones found in the grapes. This is because the Resveratrol found on the skin of the grapes is offered in a considerable amount, all in Trans- form which is the active form of the said phytoalexin. With the health benefits that you can get from the said form of phytoalexin, you may want to have a daily dose Resveratrol. You can actually obtain the same benefits from drinking red wine, from supplements, or from fresh grapes or even from Resveratrol grape juice. You can also enjoy the health benefits of Resveratrol from the many sources that are made available to you in the market.

Resveratrol’s youth retention potential is accepted and endorsed by top celebrities and nutritionists alike. If you too wish to look younger than your age, (who wouldn’t anyways?) resveratrol could prove to be a magic elixir for you. Here’s how it can help you dodge your advancing age:
1. Include Resveratrol In Your Diet
The potion is known to contain unusual amounts of antioxidants and thus can help fight the damage caused by free radicals. This in turn would provide you with radiant, glowing skin and hide your actual age.
2. Prefer Supplements Over Natural Sources
Supplements adequately cater to the bodily resveratrol requirements as against natural sources like wine and grapes that provide mere traces of the component. So go for the former and watch the potion slow down your advancing age to crawl. Adequate intake of the component would tighten your skin and prevent wrinkles, pigmentation, acne and other signs of advancing age from showing.
3. Choose A Quality Product
A quality product would ensure maximum benefits. Trans resveratrol is the only form of the component that can be absorbed by the intestine. An inferior product would compromise upon the isomer and the result would be that the component won’t reach your bloodstream at all to show any results.
Lastly, consuming a healthy diet and avoiding stress while using resveratrol would increase the anti- ageing benefits of the product manifold. The added health benefits that it provides would further strengthen your immune system and protect you from deadly diseases to actually make you feel young from within too.
Go on then, follow these simple guidelines and watch this potion work wonders for you.

Darragh Connolly asked:
Is resveratrol beneficial for helping to prevent stroke? If yes, then how?
In this article, you will get an insightful look into how resveratrol helps prevent stroke and stroke symptoms. Let’s delve deep to find out about one of the most exciting health benefits of resveratrol.
For decades, the Chinese and the Japanese have extensively used resveratrol as an active ingredient for the treatment of inflammation, allergy, hypertension, and human fungal diseases. However, the benefits of resveratrol, a compound found soluble in red wine, have only gained widespread attention recently.
There is a worldwide buzz around the wonder nutrient resveratrol these days. People are talking a lot about the benefits of this plant derivative. It is a natural antioxidant, which has hit the beauty and health market with promising results. Some of the rich sources of resveratrol are peanuts, red grapes, blueberries and red wine. Resveratrol grows on the skin of red grapes to protect it against fungal infections. Red wine is made by fermentation of these red grapes. This fermentation process is said to increase the levels of resveratrol in the wine.
Studies have proven that if consumed in high concentration, this nutrient can offer tremendous health benefits. It has been found that resveratrol improves blood flow and enhances brain efficiency by almost 30%. This reduces the probablity of having a stroke many times over.
Stroke Symptoms and Resveratrol For Stroke Prevention
Stroke occurs due to increase in oxidative stress in the body. This means that a portion of brain cells die due to lack of oxygen. This happens when the blood supply to the brain is disrupted resulting in brain damage. Disruption in blood flow to the brain generally occurs when a clot forms in a blood vessel or artery that carries oxygen-rich blood to the brain. Blood flow may also be impaired due to cholesterol and calcium deposits in the blood vessel or artery that supplies the brain.
Research shows that having two glasses of red wine per day considerably reduces the chances of stroke. This happens because Resveratrol present in red wine increases enzyme levels that protects nerve cell damage and also builds up cell resistance. When taken moderately, resveratrol present in red wine enables heme oxygenase anti-oxidant system in the body, while also improving blood supply to the brain and other organs. This helps reduce the chances of stroke by almost 40%.
Is Red Wine the Way to Prevent Stroke?
There are quite a few factors that need to be considered. First, studies done to understand the benefits of red wine use pure resveratrol and not red wine.
This indicates that the concentration of resveratrol is not high enough in red wine to show beneficial results. It is said that you need to consume at least 2 glasses of red wine, each day in order to see the benefits of resveratrol. However, as wine is an alcoholic drink, it is best consumed in moderation.
A great reason why it is always better to take resveratrol stroke prevention supplements is that they contain higher concentration of resveratrol, which gives your body the desired benefits, including the prevention of stroke or reduction of brain damage due to a stroke.
Most people that take resveratrol supplements report health benefits, and there is a lot of evidence to indicate that supplements are the best and most convenient way to take resveratrol.

Danny Fredricks asked:
Warning: Resveratrol may not be for you! Disappointed? Don’t be! Because for most of us, resveratrol is not likely to have any potential problems, side effects or other health related reasons to stay away. But there are a subset of people who should NOT take resveratrol, and we’re going to look at a few of those groups below.
Filed Under: Pregnant Women Should Not Take a Resveratrol Supplement
Quite simply, because there are still things we are unsure about related to how it interacts with some female hormones. Resveratrol has been shown to potentially do some amazing things with women’s health ( there have been some cursory but very encouraging results with breast cancer treatment) there are some concerns with estrogen, and how it may affect the production of this hormone during pregnancy or breast feeding as well.
Filed Under: Resveratrol Should Not Be Taken While Simultaneously Using a Blood Thinning Medication
Very simply, you should speak to your doctor, or health professional before taking resveratrol if you are also being treated with a blood thinner. Why? Because the supplement may also act to thin the blood, which….in combination with another medication, may not be a good combo!
The Good News?
There have not been major issues reported with resveratrol side effects, and the upside just may be unlimited! Most supplements on the market today are being sold in concentrations that are NOT going to be problematic anyway, and as of our own research, we have yet to find ONE case of any side effect being significant enough to be reported. Remember though, before starting any new supplement, even a natural one like resveratrol, simply do a little research, read the product description and make sure it jives well with YOUR system before you start!

Devin Welles asked:
Known as a natural phytoalexin compound, Resveratrol is found in Japanese knotweed, grapes and some other food sources.
Yes, Resveratrol has been reviewed on such programs as CNN, Oprah, Doctor Oz and Barbara Walters. These shows opened the public’s eyes to the marvelous benefits of adding Resveratrol to your normal daily diet. You see, you can use Resveratrol to slow down your aging process. Resveratrol has been proven to increase a normal healthy lifespan. Resveratrol also supports both your cardiovascular and your immune systems. To top it all off, Resveratrol can help you lose all that unwanted weight. Now tell me, does that sound good or what?
The team at the Department of Medical Pharmacology, Chemotherapy and Toxicology, University of Milan, Italy recently released this statement.
“The results of our tests on platelet aggregation confirm that even with modest dosages of Resveratrol, a pharmacological effect can be observed,”
That’s amazing. They stated that even modest amounts of Resveratrol in the diet could have a measurable effect. Imagine what a daily pharmaceutical extract of pure Resveratrol could do for your health.
According to Ginette Serrero, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Maryland
“Resveratrol exhibits antiestrogenic activity and inhibits the growth of human breast cancer cells”
Scientists say that the French Paradox, which implies that even though the French drink, smoke and eat high-fat foods, they have some of the lowest incidences of cardiovascular and cellular problems . Scientists say this is becaues of the large amounts of red wine that the French drink, or more importantly, because of the ingredient found in red wine called Resveratrol.

Resveratrol has gained the attention of the many since it has been found to have the many health benefits that most people are looking for. There are a lot of well known Resveratrol sources and this potent anti-oxidant is known to be very helpful in helping people in maintaining their health and avoid certain diseases. Resveratrol is known to be an anti-aging supplement. It is also capable of fighting cancer and helps in normalizing the blood sugar levels to name a few of the benefits that you can get from Resveratrol.
As Resveratrol has been known to be a very helpful supplement, here are some of the Resveratrol sources where you can find the said drug. Once of the sources of Resveratrol is the Knotweed plant found in Japan which is commonly used as an anti-aging supplement and is also believed to be a great help in fighting cancer. This helpful anti-oxidant can also be found in grapes. This is primarily found in the skin of the grapes and it is important to note that you should consume the grape as a whole for you to have the benefits of Resveratrol. This can also be found in red wine. Daily dosages of red wine may help in preventing heart diseases and cancer despite the high fat diet that you have. This is because of the Resveratrol content found in red wine. Thus a daily dose of red wine may help but make sure to take red wine moderately. This is also found in peanuts but only in small amounts and thus peanuts may help.
If you do not have access to the sources of Resveratrol, there are supplements sold out there that you can actually take two to three times a week or daily depending on your physician’s advice. It is important that you seek medical advice before taking any supplements because there might be ingredients in the supplements that are not suitable to your health. If you have any condition that might trigger a negative reaction when you consume the supplement, you might want to check with the Resveratrol sources to avoid any unwanted effects.

Abhilasha Mishra asked:
Most probably you have seen the headlines about the health benefits of red wine. It’s most important benefit is that it helps you lower the risk of cancer and heart diseases. It’s surprising that how can drinking alcohol be beneficial for health? When It is a well known truth that alcohol is harmful for body.
Drinking alcohol on regular basis can lead to liver damage, dementia, and lots of other nasty disorders. The answer to all of these questions about alcohol is Resveratrol when the researchers found it in the red wine. Resveratrol is an antioxidant, anti inflammatory substance.
Resveratrol is found in the stems, leaves and skin of red grapes. It is also found in over 70 plant species including nuts, pine trees, certain vines. However because of the fermenting process its level is higher in red wine than any other sources of Resveratrol.
Resveratrol supplements are also available in the market and it’s usually combined with grape extracts and different types of antioxidants. Researchers say that 500 milligrams daily is the minimum amount of Resveratrol which is necessary to protect you against cancer. A glass of red wine contains around 640 microgram of it and a handful of peanuts contains nearly 75 microgram of Resveratrol.
Resveratrol is like a member of family of phytochemicals, which is a plant chemical that has disease preventive and protective attribute. Research has shown that phytochemicals can protect people against many diseases and in burning calorie as well. it boosts the energy level and mental alertness.

Mark Gavalda asked:
Due to the realization that human beings can never stay away from the sun completely, scientists are always in pursuit of new and better ways to reduce the risks of suffering from skin cancer, or skin damage due to regular exposure to UV rays, particularly its UVB element. After resveratrol was discovered and it’s anti-aging with the antioxidant properties were unveiled, scientists thought they could find out if the same compound would have chemo-preventive properties. It is believed that these properties would be effective in shielding against UVB skin damage.
Needless to mention, great exposure to UVB radiation will increase the risks of skin cancer. The research which was conducted looked at the effect of resveratrol if applied topically on hairless mice. The mice were then put under UVB exposure for 7 days consecutively. The study also looked at the effect of resveratrol on survivin. Survivin, which is what is responsible for cell division in the body, is normally absent in an otherwise normal human adult tissue but present in people suffering from cancer. This justifies the reason why most cancer therapies today target survivin.
The research findings showed that the resveratrol which was applied topically considerably lowered UVB exposure and helped control the protein expression of survivin. Resveratrol was found to be able to modulate numerous cell signals, which in turn protects the skin cells from UVB damages that are known to trigger cancer development. Resveratrol considerably hindered the increase in skin edema and thickness which are normally mediated by UVB.
With these study and many others conducted, it is reassuring to know that applying resveratrol skin creams can substantially help inhibit the development of skin cancer. Living at such a time and age when global warming and ozone deterioration are the order of the day, resveratrol might just be the miracle drug that people in this generation have been waiting for.

Dan R Morris asked:
Resveratrol’s side effects aren’t in the news much, or they’re typically called benefits. However, there are a couple side effects you should be aware of. To start, I should mention that you’ve been consuming resveratrol your entire life. The existence of it in pill form is no different (and often times less absorbed) than what you’re already consuming.
You Already Eat Resveratrol
Did you know that resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant found in abundance in cocoa (dark chocolate), cranberries, blueberries, peanuts, mulberries, grapes, grape juice, red wine and peanut butter? So when you start thinking about the side effects of resveratrol, begin by exploring what you know about the side effects of those foods.
Natural Blood Thinner
So the most serious side effect that is often overlooked is that resveratrol is a natural blood thinner. This isn’t a bad thing UNLESS you’ve just taken one of the top 3 resveratrol supplements we recommend, have popped the blood thinners given to you by your doctor and are about to undergo surgery. So before you have any medical procedure make sure you tell your doctor that you’re taking a resveratrol supplement.
For the 99% of the rest of your life, a natural blood thinner is one of nature’s health secrets. How long have you heard that it’s not bad to take an aspirin a day? Or even a baby aspirin per day? How often have you been told that reducing inflammation in the body is a good thing? How about red wine, ever hear that it’s a healthy drink? All of these things are natural blood thinners (though some would argue there’s nothing natural about aspirin).
Longevity
The other side effect of resveratrol is pesky longevity. Not only will you feel better now, have cleaner blood, more energy and more youthful skin – but you may have to live longer with those new attributes. Resveratrol is known as the fountain of youth since scientists proved mice on resveratrol had more endurance and lived a longer life.

Tony Woods asked:
Who would not want to have the gift of longevity? It is the law of survival — the best, the strongest, and the fittest live the longest and are able to enjoy life to the fullest. Such is the appeal of the new supplement, resveratrol. While it has been around for quite a number of years, resveratrol has only been put to tablet form in recent years. Researches, in fact, has still only been done on mice and insects. Even so, the supplement has already been made available for human consumption and has enjoyed popularity for its health benefits since it was launched. Resveratrol has enjoyed tri-media attention. The supplement is now widely availble in various brands in the internet.
Even with the proven benefits of resveratrol in preventing aging and heart disease, there is still a question as to how much resveratrol dosage to take. Studies are still being conducted on the optimal resveratrol dosage that could yield maximum results. At present, a safe dosage is recommended at anywhere from 20mg to 50mg per day. There are resveratrol supplements that are taken in 20mg tablets once a day.
There are also those that are taken in 15mg tablets twice a day. Taking the resveratrol pill in this dosage is believed to lengthen the resveratrol activation effect. In the case of resveratrol, more is not necessarily better. Volunteer studies show that mega doses of 500mg to 1000mg of resveratrol dosage everyday could cause adverse health effects. While these effects are not serious enough to cause permanent damage, experts still do not recommend that resveratrol be taken in such dosages.

Mark Marshall asked:
Resveratrol capsules is a chemical compound known as photochemical. These chemicals are that re found in these plants provides preventive measures for the body. It also protects us from certain diseases in human beings. More than 1000 known photochemical are found. The plants manufacture such chemicals so as to protect themselves. The natural resveratrol found functions as antioxidants which protects the cells and reduces the risk of occurrence of cancerous diseases.
Huge research and studies are made on this particular subject where it is found that the demand for supplements having resveratrol is high amongst people. Companies hence have come up with resveratrol capsules which fulfills your requirement for this natural product. These resveratrol supplements are popular and mostly are found in USA. This substance is extracted from the roots of Japanese knotweed or Polygonnum cuspidatum. These are medicinal plants that are used as an ingredient in folk medicine in parts of Asia for treatment of heart and liver disease, inflammation and skin and lipid problems.
Resveratrol capsules varies in concentrations from 10 to 200 mg of resveratrol. These are 5 to 100 times of the amount of resveratrol found in a 5-ounce glass of red wine. The various supplements offer various dosage amounts. The price ranges from $10 to $40 per bottle. This capsules are many times micronized which means reduction of the particle size of the compound. Companies claim this makes absorption of the capsules easier. Being a diet supplementary the resveratrol capsules are not required to pass the Food and Drug Administration. This capsules are sold all over the world as they provide great beneficial effects in humans.
Resveratrol triggers the genes inside the brain that deal with longevity. Hence these capsules helps you have a longer life.

Danny Fredricks asked:
In this article we are going to talk a bit about resveratrol research. It’s a pretty hot topic as many of you already interested in health, wellness and longevity already know. But – before we begin, let’s talk about who the audience for this particular article is best suited: If you are over 30, or not feeling as energized and “alive” as you once did regardless of age, or are simply interested in the cutting edge of science and research as it applies to turning BACK the hands of time, this article was written for you!
Let’s dig in with the MOST common questions our readers typically have about resveratrol studies:
What kind of REAL research has been done on resveratrol thus far?
Good question! The most profound science “stuff” done so far has probably been on mice and other four legged fuzzy friends. Essentially, when given supplementation of resveratrol, mice lived longer, were more active, developed FAR fewer diseases and in general, were simply much healthier than their peers who were not given anything.
Was it the resveratrol that worked…..or maybe it was just coincidence? Any other repeatable research to cite?
Yes, there is LOTS of research to support that the resveratrol was the factor. For example, mice given a topical carcinogen which would ordinarily develop into skin cancer, were resistant to developing the disease when first supplemented with resveratrol. While I’m NOT a big fan of trying to induce skin cancer in mice, the GOOD news is that they resisted it. (they are big fans of resveratrol obviously!)
Other experiments?
Fish, Flies and all kinds of other living organisms have been equally as lucky. How about in humans you ask? It’s the 25,000 dollar question…and while we’re always hesitant to cite science when it comes anti-oxidants and cancer research, there has been well documented, peer reviewed studies released that have opined that resveratrol has been very effective in the killing, or stunting the development of breast cancer in laboratory settings.
Is there more?
Lots more..and it would take many more lines than this article will allow to highlight it all. The truth is – we DON’T quite know for sure what the “end game” will be, but there are real scientists, right now…in MAJOR places, who believe that many of you reading this right now will be able to extend your life, in powerful and exciting ways, simply by taking a resveartrol pill. And that, is super exciting and well worth writing about!

Adam Clark asked:
Resveratrol has been the subject of some of the most exciting anti-aging and cardiovascular research in decades. It’s been in the media spotlight recently on such TV programs as the famous CBS 60 Minutes interview, Barbara Walters, ABC news, Fox news, GoodHousekeeping magazine and more recently the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Resveratrol health benefits includes helping to protect the body against cardiovascular health problems and other age related diseases. It’s a high potency, all natural antioxidant with naturally occurring anthocyanadins and the flavanoids that helps to protect the body from free radical damage.
The Resveratrol that’s found in red wine (made from grapes and grape skins) is one of the explanations given for what’s become known as the “French paradox”. The French eat a diet that’s notoriously high in fat, the same as the Scottish people, yet the French have one of the lowest occurrences of cardiovascular disease, while the Scottish people have one of the highest. The answer that some researchers have given is that the French tend to drink more red wine (made from grape skins), which of course is abundant with Resveratrol. It appears to do a remarkable job.
Clinical studies have demonstrated that Resveratrol produces potent antioxidant activity. These actions may help to prevent free radical damage throughout the body and provide extra protective support to the cardiovascular system and the reduction of common age related diseases.
Resveratrol high antioxidant properties is not only effective in helping protect the body from cardiovascular diseases, but it is also believed to possess powerful anti-aging protection and it enhances healthy weight loss.
When the cells in our body uses oxygen, breaks down food, or is exposed to environmental pollution like cigarette smoke, exhaust from cars and trucks, etc. the body naturally produces free radicals which cause damage. Antioxidants act as “free radical scavengers” and helps to reduce, prevent and repair the damage that’s done by these free radicals. Free radicals may play a role in heart disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer and other age related diseases.
Antioxidants reduces these chain reactions by removing free radicals and reduces and inhibits the oxidation reactions. As a result, antioxidants protects against age related diseases, enhances cardiovascular health and helps to slow down the effects of growing old. And Resveratrol contains a high amount of powerful antioxidants that’s particularly effective in reducing the effects of these symptoms.

Racheal Stone asked:
Resveratrol’s health benefits have been hugely publicized and have gained widespread acceptability across the globe since its discovery. The food is beyond doubt a magic elixir and holds a lot of promise for the health care segment.
From anti-aging potential to youth retention possibilities and immunity boosting capabilities- resveratrol has something in store for everyone. A comparatively new study delved into this potion’s cardiovascular benefits and got rave reviews. Read on to know how resveratrol could help you avoid heart attacks too:
1. The Potion Acts As A Great Cholesterol Filter
Resveratrol is known to separate out good cholesterol from the bad one and thus is capable of retaining the good cholesterol and flushing out the harmful portions from the body. This goes a long way to prevent blockage in arteries and preventing heart troubles like cardiac arrests and arteriosclerosis.
2. Insist On Checking Out The Storage Techniques
Resveratrol turns into a different isomer altogether on coming in contact with air or water. This in turn cannot be absorbed by the intestine and fails to reach our bloodstream. Now, for the substance to show results it is important that it reaches the bloodstream. This provides enough reason for one to check upon proper storage techniques like enteric coatings that go into preserving the component.
3. Look For Adequate Resveratrol Concentration In the Supplement
The food helps in boosting metabolism and immunity and thus wards off the risk of heart troubles by keeping the system clean and the body weight under check. But to attain this end, it is essential that the body gets enough concentrations of the component to meet the daily minimum requirement of 20 milligrams.
These simple tricks and a bit of attention to the quality and source of the product you choose would free you from the risk of falling prey to deadly cardiac arrests. Not to mention, it’ll provide the much needed boost to your overall health too.

Jennifer McIntire asked:
When polyphenols including Resveratrol, Quercetin, and red wine grape extracts are concentrated into a daily tablet equivalent to over 100 Bottles of red wine (400 – 1000 mg) or more, there is one immediate question, is it safe?
Indeed, scientists who study these nutraceutical supplements have and are continuing to use similar scientific research techniques to those used in the pharmaceutical industry to evaluate their potential health benefits and safety.
In 2002, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences commissioned a report entitled, “Trans-resveratrol Review of Toxicological Literature.” A review of more than 200 referenced scientific studies were included, and the report stated that there were no reported adverse effects from Resveratrol on humans.
Animal studies have used the human-equivalent of over 1,000 mg (10 mg/kg of bodyweight) of Resveratrol, and have shown no toxic effects. Massive dosage studies were also performed on animals. “The no observed adverse affect level (NOAEL) was 300 mg/kg/day,” which would be a human dosage of 30,000 mg or 10 – 100 times the maximum concentrations contained in human high-concentration oral nutraceutical dosages.
Human studies also confirm the safety of Resveratrol in highly concentrated forms. Studies including those at Marywood University, University of Leicester (UK) and University of Michigan, etc. all found no significant side effects and no evidence of toxicity.
Personally, members of our company have taken 2,000 mg of Resveratrol and red wine grape extracts for extended periods with no side effects.
Many nutraceutical manufacturing plants are certified by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration), TGA (Australia’s FDA Certification), NSF, USP (US Pharmacopia), etc. (be sure to check company’s websites for such information).
According to Dr. Joseph Maroon, in his recent book, The Longevity Factor, How Resveratrol and Red Wine Activate Genes for a Longer and Healthier Life (page 198) “Having seen both a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and a dietary supplement facility I am assured that the manufacturing standards are virtually identical.”
High quality Resveratrol supplements have been on the market since the year 2000, and numerous patients, companies and doctors have reported their safety.
NOTE: Of course, any side-effects experienced as a result of taking Resveratrol, Quercetin, red wine grape extracts, or any other nutraceutical supplements should be reported to the manufacturer, and to your doctor.

Troy A Shanks asked:
We humans would love to live for ever. In fact all of us would love to preserve our youth and vibrancy for as long as possible. These days there are millions of drugs, supplements and pills which promise to halt aging and related problems. However, most of them are riddled with side effects and a part of quick money making schemes. So, what helps in preventing aging related problems? The answer is resveratrol, a compound found in red grapes, red wine and peanuts.
Resveratrol is the reason why French even after eating a diet laden with fats are said to be one of the healthiest people in the world. French love to drink red wine with every meal and that’s the reason why they despite having such a fatty diet have minimal cholesterol and other problems.
Chemically speaking resveratrol is a polyphenol derivative. This chemical occurs naturally in the skin and roots of many plants and helps in protecting them against infections and invasions by various bacteria and virus. Though resveratrol occurs in almost all kinds of plants in miniscule quantities, it is particularly found in large quantities in the root of Japanese Knotweed and Muscadine. Resveratrol has antioxidant properties which can help in cleansing your arteries from all the plaque and debris which accumulates from the metobolization and intake of fats and cholesterol laden food. Healthy and clean arteries help in enhancing the functioning of the heart and help in healthy and proper blood circulation.
A number of researches and studies were conducted all over the world and people from Okinawa and Sardinia were observed since they consumed a high quantity of resveratrol containing products. The studies led scientists to believe that resveratrol can help in enhancing the life span and health in humans. People from Sardinia have a lot of red wine in their meals. As a result many men in this community live for more than 100 years which is why this community also holds the male centenarian world record. Here ninety year old males work like youngsters due to their daily intake of red wine.
However, the red wine that will produce such effects needs to have resveratrol in high quantities which is not really possible in the west. This is because most crops are bathed in insecticides and pesticides in the west. This inhibits the growth of resveratrol. Hence if the benefits of resveratrol are to be enjoyed then organic wine is the best bet.
Okinawa has people who live way beyond the standard 70 or 80 years of age. This is because their diet consists of knotweed which is a substance rich in resveratrol. In fact the residents of this place also have fewer incidences of heart problems and cancer due to their resveratrol rich diet.
Hence, resveratrol helps in enhancing the circulatory system, preventing cancer and other diseases and also enhancing the quality of life and the life span. It may not be a miracle drug but it certainly helps in leading a healthy life.

Harry J. Andersohn asked:
Ever since 60 Minutes profiled two scientists who had discovered and isolated the active component in red wine responsible for so many of its health benefits, there’s been a downright feeding frenzy among people who want to buy Resveratrol.
(This has led to a whole host of problems for people who want to buy Resveratrol supplements, and it means that you have to be extra careful in where you order it from. But I don’t want to get ahead of myself — we’ll cover this important topic in a minute.)
Resveratrol supplements are, in fact, one of the hottest supplements on the market today. It’s certainly not hard to see why. According to the story that ran on 60 Minutes, studies showed that mice who were given Resveratrol supplements actually seemed to reverse in age.
Now, I’m not saying that they actually got younger — that would be silly. But if you watch that video (and I’ll tell you where you can see it in a second) you’ll see that they gave them entire batteries of tests and the ones who were given Resveratrol performed better on physical and mental challenges across the board.
This actually led to a lot of very reputable news organizations extolling the benefits of Resveratrol, and even caused a major U.S. pharmaceutical company to buy out the company of the researchers who discovered the component.
So yes, Resveratrol is a pretty big deal, and if the scientists who worked on isolating the component are right — and many studies suggest that they are — this could be a major breakthrough for anyone who wants to look and feel younger, but who doesn’t have hours upon hours to work out at the gym every day.
There are lots of other benefits that have been reported with Resveratrol that go beyond just things like weight loss and increased physical stamina. A lot of people say that it’s also helpful for increasing metabolism, improving the way your body deals with cholesterol, and it may help protect you against cancer.
Okay, now, with all of this evidence and all of this interest in what Resveratrol can do for you, it might seem like a no-brainer to go out and start taking it, right?
Well, that’s for you to decide. But what I will say is that if you want to be among the many thousands who are doing it, it’s very important that you stick with a Resveratrol supplement that you know is high-quality.

Robin Brain asked:
Resveratrol is the most recent ‘cold or fresh’ innovation in an increasing directory of natural antioxidant elements released by our crucial fellow citizens on this earth, plant life. Let’s listen to it for the plant life! When will we study that one can not hit Nature’s arrangements, changed more than billions of years, when it move towards to combating infections? The whole thing needs to be at the apex of the evolutionary mound; to assured endurance of the species & endurance needs fight, in one manner or another.
When human being are well feed, equally bodily & morally, we are able to stay alive mostly assaults from attacking bacteria, but when we are sprint downward we look to give way with no trouble.
Thus also with plants: – Resveratrol in the grape (Vitis vinifera) is originating in the ancestry, kernels and pursues but greatly high attentiveness are establish in the skin of the grape, which defends it against fungal & germ molests. Resveratrol is located in much high measures in red wine compare to white, due to there being not a great transaction if it in the ashen casings, which are superfluous before vinification.
Supplementary groceries resource of Resveratrol consist of peanuts & mulberries & it is locate in fairly big quantities in the dehydrated ancestry & stalks of the Japanese Knotweed {Poligonium cuspidatum}, available mostly throughout the health shops. The Japanese Knotweed is generally utilized, in conventional Chinese & Japanese drugs, as a stimulant for the movement.
In reality, the comparatively elevated wine drinking along with the French appears to decrease occurrences of cardiac infection, in spite of their love of high-quality foodstuff. Although this French inconsistency appears to have various estimable health reimbursements, it doesn’t look like to secure them against liver infection, which might be awful information for all of you about to plug up your 3rd glass this sunset. The apparent knowledge between scientists who have calculated the favorable results of Resveratrol speaks that 2 glasses every day are best.
Resveratrol also have antiproliferative measures, reducing cancer cell & tumors expansion, & is concerned in reducing an imperative enzyme in tumors expansion. This quick modest amalgam also decreases statement of signs on blood pots, arouses the immune system in hostility cancer, & reduces deteriorations of LDL-Cholesterol &, if that were not sufficient, also is an excellent anti-inflammatory. Examine carry on & additional helpful uniqueness is being exposed every day.

Regina Resnick asked:
The Resveratrol 60 Minutes show segment is actually an update on a piece that was done nearly two decades ago. In that show 60 Minutes investigated how the French ate diets high in fat, and drank tons of red wine, but had lower rates of heart disease when compared to Americans. Since that time, it has been pretty much accepted that moderate consumption of red wine can be beneficial.
Today, the discussion of red wine is again coming to the surface after a Resveratrol 60 Minutes story that was done in January 2009 highlighted the fact that an ingredient in the wine could be responsible for not only the good health of the French, but possibly being able to fight off age related diseases and extend life.
Obviously, that is a very bold claim but the piece interviewed two doctors that have been studying the health benefits of Resveratrol which is found in red wine and the skin of grapes. It is also found in several other foods but the story focused on these items.
Resveratrol is said to protect plants from invasion by damaging bacteria and fungi and is commonly considered a high powered antioxidant.
Two of the doctors interviewed for the 60 Minutes story had such belief in the future of Resveratrol that they started a Cambridge, MA biotech company called Sirtris to develop synthetic drugs based on the compound.
In the piece, Dr. David Sinclair, was doing genetic studies at Harvard University. He tested thousands of compounds to see if he could identify one that would help to activate the body’s Sirtuin or “longevity gene” and he got a hit with Resveratrol.
The story goes into good detail about how resveratrol impacted the health of test animals as well as humans that had diabetes.
According to the studies, it was clear that this compound could help slow down common health ailments associated with both obesity and old age. It is said the human tests on cancer patients are currently ongoing.

Hillary Scott Wallace asked:
According to various researches, resveratrol has a lot of health benefits including improvement of overall well being and protection of the body against health concerns related to high fat diets. Resveratrol benefits also include efficiency in weight loss, making the product one of the most sought-after weight loss products in the market today.
Resveratrol can be found naturally in peanuts, grape juice and red wine and there have been laboratory experiments done in mice and it has been found that a high fat diet together with resveratrol supplements show no sign of fatty livers or insulin resistance, which are very common for people who have high fat diets. Furthermore, resveratrol has been proven to help in providing higher energy levels in the body. These health benefits have been recognized as the origin of the French paradox wherein French people drink wine in their every meal. Afterwards, it was discovered that French people are less prone to heart disease.
Drinking a glass of wine regularly is just the same as having a .5% of resveratrol dosage. Though this experiment was only performed on mice, the supplement can be taken by humans safely. Both concentrated doses and supplemental doses can be great sources of various health benefits. Eating a high fat meal each day can eventually build up cholesterol levels in the body and decline the health. Resveratrol has been proven to help improve overall health even with high fat diet. This is due to the fact that the benefits provided by resveratrol are similar to the benefits of restricting the calorie intake. Resveratrol keeps the skin and the heart healthy and prevent the process of aging. This natural antioxidnat is a vital key in delaying the aging process and produce a blockage against diseases.
It is important to take the right resveratrol dosage in order to get its health benefits. A lot of people use the supplement for weight loss because it helps the body lessen the number of fat cells and at the same time increase the amount of muscle mass. Resveratrol acts as an appetite suppressant that provides people with a natural way of losing weight. Another benefit of resveratrol is its ability to protect cells from damage and it can also protect and repair the body from further damage and illnesses such as cancer.

David Barnet asked: Recent studies suggest that resveratrol, a red wine extract, may be able to extend our life (study – D Sinclair of Harvard Medical School in Boston and colleagues at the University of Connecticut and Brown University in Rhode Island – published in July 13 issue of Nature).
The contolled study showed that fries and worms fed on resveratrol live 30% longer than those that were not fed resveratrol. Because all creatures share many biological processes there seems to be compelling evidence that this red wine compound may also extend life in humans.
Before these studies resveratrol was intrinsically linked to protection against heart diseases mainly because of the high concentration of antioxidative parts of this compound. However, the new findings seem to be unrelated to the antioxidative properties of resveratrol and so life extension must come from a different property of the extract. The most compelling theory is that resveratrol may have a calorie-restriction mechanism that activates proteins called sirtuins similar to sir2. Sir2 is an important protein which is an important regulator of the aging process.
Unlike actual calorie restriction, resveratrol has no negative impact on fertility. Actually, evidence suggests that resveratrol improves fertility.
Currently researchers are trying to duplicate the same results in mice, to show that mammals too benefit from resveratrol.
By consuming resveratrol supplements, we may gain the following protective benefits:
• decreased risk and severity of strokes
• Reduction in severity of Alzheimer’s disease
• Improved skin healing
• Protection against pancreatitis
• Protect against diabetic kidney disease
• Protect against liver damage
• Protect against osteoarthritis
• Suppression of appetite and in turn weight control or loss
• Improved sperm production
• Inhibition of cataract formation
• Inhibit proliferation of the herpes simplex virus

John Sims asked:
The natural drug, Resveratrol is becoming very popular and being featured on sever TV shows for its many health benefits. It has the potential to fight three types of disease: Alzheimer’s cancer and cardiovascular disease. Today, these diseases fill the minds and bodies of the modern man.
Resveratrol is a type of antibiotic plant called phytoalexin, and it is produced when plants are attacked by fungi or bacteria. It is found naturally in the skin of red grapes. This finding has lead wine lovers and scientist to believe that drinking red wine may help in fighting cancer and improving overall health. It was first taken from hellebore roots back in 1940 and it was not until 1192 that is was associated with the positive effects it had on reducing cancer and improving cardiovascular health.
Some studies have stated that moderate consumption of wine reduces death rates by up to 40% each year. It is not certain as to whether this is due to Resveratrol’s function, but scientists claim that consuming wine by itself does not provide the body with enough this substance to be an outstanding positive effect.
Its effects of have been tested successfully on rodents and cell cultures. On the rodents’ tests, has acted as agent fighting against cancer, increasing the function of the cardiovascular system, lowering blood sugar.Iit has removed brain plaque and increased the overall life span.
Resveratrol can possibly be treatment for cancer, Alzheimer’s, spinal cord injuries and cardiovascular disease.
It can also have the following benefits:
1. Better athletic performance
2. Protection from radiation exposure
3. Increase longevity
4. Protect from smoke damage
As a natural defense product found in plants, this substance has many health benefits when it is taken as a supplement. Nutritionists strongly urge eating foods that contain Resveratrol, especially those people who are recovering from an illness or who are at risk with a weakened immune system. People who are healthy will also see many benefits, including a better autoimmune response and improved metabolic rates.
As a natural product, Resveratrol can be a dietary supplement that takes the place of those more expensive and potentially dangerous prescriptions that have unknown side effects. With all of its health benefits, is one of the most beneficial antioxidant vitamins available today.

Ben Nicholls asked:
Resveratrol has been around for awhile now but only until recently have scientists discovered the many health benefits of this supplement.
Whenever we are promised the latest supplement that is supposed to hit the market is the fountain of youth or everlasting life, they never end up living up to the hype or promises. While some of these supplements may have worked for you in the past but the benefits are usually only cosmetic and do nothing to slow down the aging process.
So recently when resveratrol came out and everyone from Oprah to 60 minutes was raving about it I thought that this was just another product that failed to live up to the hype. The difference with resveratrol and many other so called miracle products is that they have conducted real studies, done in a real lab with some very encouraging benefits.
These resveratrol benefits include the same antioxidants that are found in red wine, it has been shown to be as much as 50 times more powerful than vitamin c. It also aids in fighting certain diseases, weight loss and most importantly it slows down the chemical in our body that causes us to age.
The problem is when a very popular product like this comes out everyone wants to supply this to the public. This is when unqualified manufacturers try to take advantage of people. So when choosing which resveratrol supplement to get you have to be careful so that you receive the full benefits of resveratrol by choosing one that is legit.
These resveratrol supplements are currently being offered to the public with rick free trials of the product, but they are also limited in supply. So if would like to find out which manufacturers are real and are offering a free trial then head on over to my resveratrol benefits review page here.

Faviano Torres asked:
Resveratrol has a lot of benefits to the health-conscious individual who wishes to lose weight: longer life, better physical fitness, and higher cardiovascular disease resistance, to name a few. Yet resveratrol has its own limitations and problems as well… or does it?
To date, no concrete scientific evidence has been presented to the side effects of resveratrol. Only anecdotal evidence from the first-hand experiences of users is available; making medical side effects impossible to prepare for. However, there are a few general tips for the correct intake of resveratrol to prevent deadly mistakes from occurring.
Specific allergies to resveratrol and some of its components are the most unpredictable and dangerous of all the problems a person may encounter. Directly ingesting an entire pill has a very high possibility of killing you if you are highly allergic to resveratrol. So make sure to contact your doctor before you take any resveratrol supplements, especially if you are allergic to grapes or wine.
Medical conditions like pre-existing heart ailments, diabetes, and liver problems may be aggravated with the sudden introduction of any supplement. Resveratrol is such a supplement, and you definitely do not want to self-medicate when you have a life-threatening medical condition at hand. Resveratrol is best avoided in these kinds of situations, unless your doctor says it is safe.
Blood pressure is also another problem. Though there is no medical study that reports resveratrol increases blood pressure, some individuals who take resveratrol report heightened blood pressure rates. With this in mind, make sure to monitor your blood pressure for spikes whenever you take your resveratrol supplements. If you notice an upward trend whenever you take it (and a downward trend when you don’t) you may want to skip out on the resveratrol altogether. A stroke or heart attack is no joking matter.
Resveratrol supplements definitely help with weight loss and promoting good health, but you still have to be careful when you take it. Keep these tips in mind, and you will be sure to avoid any deadly mistakes as you pursue your weight loss goals.

Eleni Milano asked:
Resveratrol is receiving a lot of great press and has seem to grow in popularity quickly every since it was featured on 60 Minutes and was recently endorsed by Dr. Oz. However, what are Resveratrol health benefits and are there any danger when taking this so-called elixir of life.
Resveratrol was originally identified in 1963 in Asian folk medicine and was originally called ko-jo-kon, then it was later discovered in grapevines and then in 1992 it was found in red wine. Drinking red wine has been known for ages for its health benefits and is not surprising that Resveratrol was the key ingredient behind all this. However, it would take approximately a thousand bottles of wine to equal the dosage of one days dosage found in a Resveratrol supplement.
Anti-Aging Benefits
This is one of the main areas where Resveratrol seems to shine the brightest. It works by activating a class of longevity genes in you body called Sirtuins. Sirtuins focus is to shrink cellular decay and aid the cells greater power to restore themselves. This benefits not only the internal organs but also the external ones which is why it gives your skin that youthful, shiny, healthy look
Powerful antioxidant properties
Resveratrol has been found to have great antioxidant powers but it is only one of the many types of antioxidants that should be taken. To get full effect and get the most out of antioxidants, many types should be taken in combination as a healthy supplement routine.
There are many Resveratrol health benefits ranging from cancer fighting properties to protection against radiation and even losing weight. It is still in its infant state of research and GloxoSmithKline actually paid close to 1 billion dollars into the Research For Resveratrol, which is a great testament that shows that this is a very important product to be taken very seriously.

I am from a family with various heart diseases so I am really conscious of my diet but then if one’s surrounded with fast foods, I can’t help but indulge in it. Fast food has become one of my comfort foods though I know that it’s not good for me or on anyone. One doctor advised me to drink red wine because as we all know it prevents blood vessel damage, regulates bad cholesterol and aids in the prevention of blood clots. Why red wine? Jitesh Arora asked:
Resveratrol is beneficial in many ways as it is helpful in treating and preventing several conditions like obesity, cancer, aging and other common disorders.
Resveratrol is present in many food products like cocoa and peanuts. One of the richest sources is red wine. You can start taking resveratrol with a minimum dose of 20 milligrams. It is a smart idea to start the drug with a small dose and you will see the benefits within very few days.
There are many things which should be considered before taking any type of health supplement. The most important thing is dose of the drug. Proper dose always give desirable results.
Do you know what Bio-Availability is? Bio-availability can be explained as the dose of drug that should be taken by anyone. In case of Resveratrol this measurement is done by evaluating the level of drug in urine or plasma.
The dosage of the resveratrol generally differs from one person to another. The dose taken by one patient may not suit others. Resveratrol is almost always effective but one has to take care of the amount he is consuming. It is a smart idea to go through the reviews and articles related to the product you are planning to buy. There are many websites and blogs which regularly review latest health care products.
Don`t forget to visit your family doctor. He can help you a lot in making the best choice possible. Pregnant women and lactating mothers should not intake any type of drugs without proper consultation.

Karen A Graham asked:
Resveratrol research has come on in leaps and bounds over the last 10 years. Many scientists from many countries around the world including the USA, Japan, England and others have been undertaking research both on lab animals and also on humans, diabetic trials, to find out what the extent resveratrol has in protecting and curing the human body.
Part of this research has been to try it at different strengths to analyze what can be achieved. One really outstanding research was carried out on lung cancer tissue and more than one group of scientists in different countries were achieving similar results.
What these results of the resveratrol research were showing was that resveratrol when it was put with the malignant cells prevented the cells from further growth. Each test that was carried out showed that it was able to prevent the cancer cells from multiplying and spreading. In fact the results have proven so positive that the scientists have said that it could be a new treatment for oncology patients.
Resveratrol found in its natural state as part of the secondary metabolites of plants such as cranberries, raspberries, bilberries, red grapes, peanuts, Japanese knotweed etc. could not be consumed in large enough doses to have such amazing effect as the above results have shown.
Eating these foods though in their natural state does give your body some protection but if you want to gain the optimum protective and healing benefits of resveratrol then you need to take them in a supplementary form.
Resveratrol can be taken as a single supplement however I prefer to take mine as part of a highly nutritious combined supplement that contains lots of other life enhancing ingredients such as aloe vera polysaccharide, decaffeinated green tea extract, ginko biloba and a host of other amazing ingredients that when working in synergy together gives me the ultimate and optimal protection against terminal illness as resveratrol research has shown.
For more information on achieving optimal health visit my website www.total-supplements.info today.

Heather May asked:
If you have ever wondered what makes red wine healthy in moderation. The next few sentences should help you understand why that is. A chemical in the vines and skins of grapes have a few unique properties. The chemical resveratrol prevents the cause of certain cancer conditions like tumor growth. It is able to extend any ordinary persons life span by keeping the body healthy. There are many specialty products that have something to offer which no food contains. Others have a concentrated form of a substance that is hard to get without any bi-products.
Resveratrol is found in many plants because it protects them from bacteria and disease. Although grape juice is usually made from grapes it doesn’t contain a good amount of resveratrol. Red wine is different because it has been fermented which helps to release the chemical into the liquid. There are ways to get resveratrol without drinking red wine. The supplement resveratrol is the best way to boost insulin and glucose levels in blood. This is the exact reason why athletes use resveratrol, because it helps to boost muscle growth. Diabetics use resveratrol for a similar reason, this chemical helps the blood create insulin which is very important to digest sugar. As for cancer, tumor growth is from an enzyme that stimulates growth. The resveratrol fights this enzyme, in turn preventing cancer cells from growing.
The most important property of resveratrol is it’s ability to keep molecules in the same shape. When food is normally digested the molecules become twisted and lose the ability to be absorbed properly into the blood stream. Using resveratrol helps to keep those same molecules in the same shape. This effect helps the body digest food properly and even help you lose wrinkles because of resveratrol’s antiaging properties. With the combination of these qualities there is no wondering why people use resveratrol supplements every day.

James Mitchell asked:
Trans Resveratrol Capsules: The Fountain Of Youth In A Supplement?
Resveratrol is now almost a household name, thanks to the extensive media coverage this antioxidant has received. A 60 minutes exclusive profile dedicated to this wonder product has made it one of the most sought after drug of all times. Resveratrol is an anti-aging nutrient which can not only stall the aging process but also reverse it. It is naturally found in red wine, berries and even in peanuts. The French Paradox wherein although the French people drink the most red wine and have a rather unhealthy diet, still the occurrence of heart related disorders in France is the least, can be directly attributed to the presence of Resveratrol in red wine. Not only is it great as an anti-aging drug, it is also known to prevent heart diseases.
How does Resveratrol help to Prevent Aging?
Resveratrol can effectively activate some genes in our body that contribute directly to its longevity. These genes are referred to as ‘Sirtuins’ and they can slow down the decay of cells in our bodies. Sirtuins also increase the ability of the cells to repair themselves, thereby increasing their life tenure. A reduction in cell decay is the main factor which contributes to Resveratrol being such a success in slowing the aging process.
How can we provide our bodies with Adequate Resveratrol without resorting to Red Wine Binges?
Most of the people out there who want to slow down the aging process and also lead a healthier life are understandably skeptical about increasing their red wine intake. Red wine has a lot of alcohol content and is also loaded with calories, two things which a health conscious person can do without.
This is where Resveratrol supplements come into the picture. These are generally available as capsules which provide us with all the health benefits of Resveratrol without the added negatives of red wine. There are some key factors which should be considered before taking Resveratrol capsules. Just popping any pill is not ok, authenticity has to be ensured. Due to sudden demand for Resveratrol supplements, markets have been flooded with this product. While, some are the real thing containing the required quantity of Resveratrol, many of the Resveratrol capsules available on the market are plain fads and should be avoided at all costs.
Is More Essentially Better as far as Resveratrol Dosage Is Concerned?
Low dosages have been found to be very effective in their anti aging properties and in all the other health benefits that Resveratrol brings in. These have the added advantage of having no side effects, unlike high dosages of Resveratrol supplements which can lead to side effects like chelation of minerals from our bodies. Try out a low dosage Resveratrol supplement before opting for the ‘more is better’ policy.

Vincent R Watson asked:
Personal health is not on the top of everyone’s priority list today. It should be but life seems to get in the way. We all have hectic lifestyles and do not always have the time to keep up to date with the latest research and information, let alone pick through it to see which experts are correct.
After all, there is so much information around about what is and what is not good for you that it can be difficult to plow through it all. Most of it is scaremongering but other substances could help us to elevate our collective health. One such substance is Resveratrol.
Resveratrol is commonly found in wine and was discovered some years ago when research was undertaken to determine just how drinking wine can affect an individual’s health. Instead of harming it, as it was believed previously, it helped to keep several illnesses at bay and Resveratrol was the reason why. At the time, Resveratrol was classified with other substances that could be found in wine.
This meant it was cast aside and labelled as a toxin rather than used in health care to enhance the human body’s ability to fight off cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, heart disease and other illnesses that get more common as we age.
Research that was performed into wine a few years later discovered the true benefits of Resveratrol and also found that it was the reason that the French lived so long considering that their diet was hardly conducive to a long and healthy life!
This was in the 1990s and it has largely fallen under the radar since, and yet people that still take it tend to be much healthier.
But what does this mean for you?
For reliable information on Resveratrol benefits it’s always recommended to go to a trusted source.
What can consuming Resveratrol do for you?
Essential facts that everyone needs to know are outlined below for ease of reference.
After reading them, you may understand why it is important to consume Resveratrol on a regular basis:
* Resveratrol has been the subject of extensive research and has been proven to have a number of effects, all of which can enhance your health. It can help to protect the cells of the body against toxins, can work in various areas of the body, restricts the growth of cancer cells and maintains the health of the heart.
* Resveratrol is a natural substance and can be found in (amongst other things) grapes, nuts, vines and pine trees,. As such, it does not have any synthetic qualities that could cause more harm than good. This is also why it can be found in wine.
* Although Resveratrol is most commonly found in wine, the levels in every glass depend on a number of factors, including how the grapes were grown and how the wine was made with them. For example, if grapes are grown organically then they are full of Resveratrol but if pesticides are added then this degrades it. The majority of wines barely contain any as a result of this but organic reds from France often contain quite a lot!
* You can obtain Resveratrol via supplements and standardised doses and they are essential if you want to make sure that you get enough to give your body a helping hand in the fight against disease and aging. This form of it is actually taken from the roots of plants so it is undiluted and guaranteed to work.
There is now plenty of information around about Resveratrol so it’s easy to find out more if you want to. However, it is worth considering all of the above and taking the correct dosage to help safeguard your health in the coming years.

John Cowburn asked:
Flavonoids such as Resveratrol from red wine, catechins from green tea and polyphenols from pine bark are widely known potent vasodilators and antioxidants and this is why they are often included in special health giving dietary supplements. This is all good but it is often difficult to discover what’s the resveratrol recommended dosage.
Research indicates they may:
be anti aging improve cardiovascular health. aid weight loss. heal herpes simplex virus. help at time of menopause when estrogen levels drop. support our immune system.
Do you know what’s in your Resveratrol supplement? I bet that like myself until recently, you haven’t got a clue. Many manufacturers of resveratrol supplements avoid disclosing full information of both the strength of the resv and what else is contained in the supplement.
If that’s the case, you’ll be pleased to know that I’ve done the hard work for you and am happy to point you in the right direction.
Rezveratrol recommended dosage
I’m not going to give you the answer right away, but I will be showing you where to get further free information. Hopefully you will be a little wiser and interested in learning more, once you have finished reading this article.
There are several problems to be considered:
very few makers agree on a recommended daily dosage there are two types of rezv, trans and cis. One is natural and the other synthetic and you will need to learn about the purity and strength of each very few makers will hold their hands up and say whether they use five, twenty or fifty percent strength
With this situation how can you be expected to buy the product when you don’t know whether you are taking too little or too much. You could be wasting your money because the dosage is too low or you may be risking your health by using a supplement with far too high a dosage.
Unless you find a reputable company, you may not even be aware of how pure the product is. Perhaps you have read some of the bad press regarding concerns about how the product is obtained. Not all manufacturers produce their own goods and this work can be contracted out to the cheapest bidder.
Risks from this practice include:
badly sourced raw ingredients bad blending protocols supplements will be made as cheap as possible product will contain unwanted extras product may not have what it claims to no proper testing of the supplement
I should hasten to add that it is not all bad news and there are some excellent companies selling on the Internet who are prepared to tell you exactly how they source and test their raw ingredients. One I can thoroughly recommend is a manufacturer who I have been buying from for nearly 2 years – below I will tell you where to go to find out more about this very different company and the life changing products it both manufactures itself and sells.
Below is a list of some of the other companies and supplements I have investigated:
biotivia Transmax jarrow Synergy sirtris biochem forte ultra bioforte botivia
The questions is: how many of these companies display their protocols for all to see?
I hope you don’t feel that I have left you with more questions than answers. It’s just not really possible in this short article to tell you everything, but remember this:
taking a 32mg supplement of 50% trans-resveratrol once a day corresponds to the Rezv content of several bottles of red wine resv is really sensitive and its potency can be reduced by stomach acid
Obviously from this, it essential to find a supplier that sells trans-resv enteric coated supplements at 32mg – 50% strength.

Harry J. Andersohn asked:
We’ve heard this story before, haven’t we? Whenever a new supplement or natural food source comes on the market, we’re told that, finally, we’ve found the key to everlasting life and health.
If you’re like me, you’ve probably gotten excited in the past and have rushed out to buy expensive supplements, powders, pills, capsules, tinctures, teas, or some other concoction that promised to rejuvenate your mind and body.
Some of them have probably worked for you. I know that a fair number of supplements I take on a daily basis definitely help improve my life — and probably even extend it. But for every one that does work, there’s another that doesn’t do a darn thing.
Sound familiar? So when the news first broke about resveratrol and it’s supposed fountain-of-youth qualities, I naturally got excited, but I also tried deliberately to tone down my enthusiasm. I guess this is a side effect of having been burned before.
But now here’s the difference between resveratrol and so many of the other compounds or obscure remedies we’ve heard about in the past. Resveratrol actually has studies — real studies, done in a real lab — that back up the claims.
In fact, the research is so promising, and apparently so convincing, that even major U.S. pharmaceutical companies are getting in on the act.
So is resveratrol for real? I’m no doctor, but I certainly tend to think that it is.
But now here’s the real caveat to all of this. Whenever anything gains a sudden popularity the way resveratrol has, you’re going to find that a lot of unqualified manufacturers are going to jump on the bandwagon and start to try and supply this to a hungry public.
What this means is that you have to be careful about who and where you get your resveratrol from. I’m going to show you in just a second what I think is the very best way to find the highest quality resveratrol around. So please read through to the end of this article so that I can share that with you.
(Oh, and I’ll also tell you how to get some great resveratrol for free. This is great little tactic, so stay tuned!)
First, just in case you weren’t aware, I wanted to go through some of the resveratrol benefits so that you can see what has everyone so excited.
Did you know, for example, that resveratrol has been shown to be as much as 50 times more powerful as an antioxidant than vitamin C?
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. In lab tests, subjects given resveratrol performed better on all kinds of physical and mental tests — in other words, they performed as though they were much younger.
And this, more than anything else, is what has people so excited. What we’re talking about here is a substance, that’s naturally occurring, and that apparently acts to slow down or reverse the aging process.
Now of course we have to throw in here that there have been no long-term studies on resveratrol as of yet. But it’s just my personal opinion that I don’t want to wait 20 years until I’m old and gray to start trying to recapture my youth.
I would rather start slowing down the aging process today. So that in 20 years I can look back at this point in my life and say that it was one of the smartest decisions I ever made.

Oprah Show is dedicated to offer best diet supplements and health products to the viewers. The show features many regular guests who are the health & medical experts in their fields. One among these is the Turkish American cardio surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz. Resveratrol is Dr. Oz’ latest advice on anti aging.
Dr. Oz’ take on Resveratrol
Anti oxidants are always a great help in anti aging. They fight against the oxidants present in the toxins and the free radicals. Actually when the oxidants hit on the body cells, they damage the body tissues and hence cause wrinkles & fine lines on the skin. These are also responsible for the aging of the internal system of the body. The anti oxidants remove these oxidants and repair the damages caused. Further the anti oxidants are helpful in slowing down the process of aging of the internal body tissues like the brain cells and nervous cells.
On the Oprah Show, Dr. Oz explained the various FAQ’s about resveratrol. Now let us first understand what is resveratrol – it is compounds extracted from the skins of the red color fruits. This is basically an anti oxidant. The fruits & herbs rich in this compound are peanuts, grapes, straw berries, red wine, Japanese Knotweed, etc.

Charles Strong asked:
A Resveratrol review can be a helpful guide for individuals who are considering adding this natural anti-oxidant to their regular health regimen. As more and more becomes known about Resveratrol it is useful to learn what the experts have to say before deciding on the right course for you.
Resveratrol is a natural plant chemical found primarily in the seeds and skins of red grapes as well as in peanuts. It is found in its most concentrated form in red wine and red grape juice. Resveratrol reviews suggest that one 4 oz. glass of red wine with dinner can provide a healthy amount for the average adult.
Obviously red wine isn’t an ideal option for everyone, but it is now also possible to find Resveratrol in pill form. A Resveratrol review can help you to distinguish between the various available options but in most cases the benefits of Resveratrol are optimized when it is included in a natural dietary supplement along with a special blend of other plant based substances.
Resveratrol reviews have shown that it is rich in ant-oxidant and other helpful properties. Like any anti-oxidant, it helps to remove toxins from your body which can build up as the result of daily exposure to environmental irritants. Resveratrol can also help the body in other ways, including reducing inflammation and preventing cell mutation which lead to the development of cancers.
The benefits of Resveratrol are enhanced when it is combined with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, herbal extracts and other natural compounds. By working together, these substances can combat a range of problems, from wrinkled skin to impaired circulation and everything in between. A Resveratrol review can help to determine not only its effectiveness for your body, but it’s compatibility with other natural substances and the form in which they will have the most benefit for you.
Of course, any supplement is only going to be effective if it is incorporated into a regular daily routine which promotes overall health. Proper exercise and a balanced diet, rich in vegetables, proteins, fruits and other nutrients must be the first step in any health plan. Resveratrol reviews show that its effectiveness is improved when used as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Comprehensive natural supplements, when used properly, have been shown to produce a wide range of effects from alleviating the symptoms of depression to increasing energy to reducing the signs of aging by improving skin tone. A Resveratrol review shows that this can be the single most important advance in terms of slowing your bodys aging process.
We all want to turn back the hands of time and research suggests that using a comprehensive natural supplement which includes Resveratrol may be the key to doing so. So don’t take chances when it comes to your health. Do your research and find a supplement which will work for you and the news can be good for your health too!

Cindy Obama asked:
Has the whole buzz around resveratrol left you wondering as to what it actually is? A comparatively new discovery in the health food segment, resveratrol has carved a niche for itself as a natural antioxidant. If you too are smitten by the tremendous popularity that the food has gained, read on to know all about this wonder potion.
What Is The Need For Resveratrol?
This substance, prominently found in red wine, exists in nature as outer peels of grapes, peanuts and blueberries. While one might argue upon the need for resveratrol supplements in the first place when a bunch of grapes or a glass of wine could be natural and tastier alternatives, it is worth noting that these contain very little amounts of the miraculous ‘anti-aging’ substance. Supplements on the other hand, easily cater to the quantities required by our body.
How Does It Work?
Resveratrol’s main function in plants is to ward off viruses, dust and disease causing bacteria that might harm them. Various researches conducted show that it works pretty much in the same fashion for humans. Its antioxidant properties strengthen the immune system and protect the body from the deadliest of diseases and infections.
Why Should I Opt For It?
You must be wondering as to what is the need for this particular variety when a host of similar options are available in the market? The answer to this is quite simple: a natural supplement is way better than a synthetic one. It is outright foolishness to subject your body to harmful side effects when anti aging and increased longevity could be achieved with something as natural as the natural resveratrol supplement.
You must have got a fair idea of the immense potential of this wonder potion by now. As far as choosing a supplement is concerned, with a wide variety on offer both online and otherwise, one is surely spoilt for choice. So, if you really want to retain your youth and fight the ill effects of aging, there is no better alternative than this miraculous anti-aging supplement

Tina Bardo asked:
Who else wants to discuss the amazing benefits of resveratrol? If you are anything like the vast majority of our readers, the simple truth is that you are really STOKED at the possibilities that resveratrol has to not only extend your life, but make you happier, healthier and more energetic to boot!
But like all really good things these days, unfortunately, amidst all of the great scientific studies and positive press this wonder antioxidant is getting, slowly but surely, the hands of many manipulative marketing companies are getting involved, and separating the fact, from fiction is getting more challenging!
Filed Under: Fact or Fiction? Resveratrol is a Proven Way to Cure Cancer
Unfortunately, this is fiction, even though you’ll now read it occasionally online. The simple truth is that it appears that in lab tests, animals fed resveratrol were able to avoid cancer to some degree, especially as compared to the “control” group who got none, but to state this factually about human beings, at this point, is WAY premature!
Filed Under: Fact or Fiction? One Glass of Red Wine A Day is Sufficient for Resveratrol Supplementation
This is simply untrue on the OTHER side of the street completely! For example, some of the more popular rez supplements that we’ve written articles about, and previously reviewed have the equivalent of 1000 or MORE glasses of wine per serving. None of the scientists who are currently studying it and it’s effect on aging, disease and extending life believe the answer is going to be more wine..:-) What they believe, instead, is that extracting the resveratrol itself, and serving it up in a supplement or pill form that is most conducive to the human body will be the key to seeing just how much this little wonder “drug” can really do for us individually….and as a species overall!

Rob R Carmichael asked:
Dr OZ, the eminent physician on the Oprah show recently endorsed Resveratrol Ultra as one of the few resveratrol products to really “pack a punch”.
Resveratrol is derived from the polyphenol fungi which grows naturally on plants to help protect them from bacteria.
Dietitians have found through seven years of extensive studies that when pure resv is consumed on a daily basis, it will naturally cleanse and scrub your arteries.
Having the ability to scrape dangerous toxins from your arteries is important for a number of reasons.
The first, is that the plain truth of achieving longevity is through having healthy arteries and a healthy heart.
If your arteries remain clogged then your heart will not function properly and this will result in a number of ailments manifesting.
Secondly, as opposed to having the ability to extend your life, some peoples arteries are in such a sorry state, that aside from living longer, some would like to have the ability to reach a natural age, rather than succumb to an early grave.
The U.S and Europe have some of the worst related artery fatality statistics on record, so having the ability to naturally cleanse the arteries without committing to any exercise, Dr OZ argues, is one quick fix to an ever growing American pandemic.
Thirdly, having clean arteries will not only provide strength to your heart but your skin will also benefit.
How healthy we are on the inside is reflected on the outside and what dietitians observe as the “resveratrol glow”, resveratrol ultra, which is a highly concentrated anti-oxidant delivers what doctors argue is the most powerful artery cleanser.
When accompanied with an Acai Berry face cream however, both celebrities Dr Oz and Dr Acai (Mr Periconne) believe, is the fastest way to replenishing the skin, eliminating wrinkles and obviously extending your longevity which has now been medically proven with resveratrol ultra, by at least 10 if not 15 to 20 years.
If you are slightly dubious about either of these anti-aging products which have currently taken the anti- aging market by storm, or would like a FREE TRIAL before one of the big manufacturers snaps them up and starts charging a ridiculous price.

Charles Strong asked:
Resveratrol side effects are a topic of some discussion as this naturally produced chemical has been incorporated into a number of comprehensive dietary supplements. As with any supplement, vitamin or medication, possible complications are a legitimate cause for concern, but the more you can learn about Resveratrol the more you’ll be able to ease your mind.
Resveratrol is a plant chemical found in red grapes and grape seeds and the products made from them, including juice and red wine. Resveratrol has been shown to have anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and cholesterol lowering properties, making it an important addition to any health regimen. With its range of helpful properties it is known to do everything from preventing heart disease and some cancers to lowering cholesterol levels and even slowing the progress of Alzheimer’s Disease.
While the inclusion of a comprehensive daily supplement including Resveratrol in your regular routine can be very beneficial, Resveratrol side effects do exist and it is important that you be aware of any potential risks. On the plus side, direct adverse reactions to Resveratrol have yet to be reported, but there are some specific areas of caution which should be heeded.
Since Resveratrol has some estrogen related properties, women with estrogen sensitive conditions should consult a doctor before taking it. Also, Resveratrol can act as a blood thinner, so anyone taking blood thinning medications is strongly urged to consult a doctor before beginning to take a supplement which contains Resveratrol. As with any supplement or medication, nursing or pregnant women and anyone taking prescription medications should also use caution when taking Resveratrol.
While Resveratrol side effects are relatively limited, the benefits of this natural substance have been shown to be wide spread, affecting everything from circulation and joint function to respiratory health. Resveratrol is particularly effective when used in combination with other natural substances as part of a comprehensive dietary supplement.
When combined with the effects of other minerals, amino acids, enzymes and anti-oxidants, Resveratrol can be part of a long term regimen to combat the signs of aging. Dietary supplements containing natural substances such as these can help to bolster the body’s natural defenses and even reverse damage caused by environmental irritants.
As part of a healthy lifestyle which includes a balanced diet, proper exercise and adequate hydration, a daily natural supplement can be your best weapon in the fight against aging. Not only can natural supplements leave you feeling energized and strong, they can help to reverse the effects of aging on everything from your internal systems to your skin and hair. Despite possible Resveratrol side effects, this can be the most important step you’ll ever take in terms of your overall health.
You should never put anything into your body that you don’t trust, but studies show there is no reason not to trust Resveratrol and other natural substances. Just take the time to research and make sure you are using the best possible product for you and you’ll be looking and feeling better in no time!

Cindy Rhyes asked:
Since resveratrol experiments have been carried out on animal subjects, the proper amount of resveratrol to be taken by humans to achieve the same positive effects is yet to be determined. Assessment of resveratrol dosage has become a widely debated issue among those who would like to maximize from this compound’s curative effects.
Based on resveratrol research done on mice and insects, scientists were able to offer initial dosage recommendations for humans. In the study, the mice were given 20 mg resveratrol dose per day, and genetic changes showing anti-aging characteristics were revealed. In parallel with this, a safe step would be to consume 20 mg. dosage in the initial stages. There have been resveratrol manufacturers claiming that 500mg to 1000mg in every dosage poses no issues to be alarmed about. However, participants in a study taking these specific doses reported anemia, blood thinning, anxiety and diarrhea.
The good thing about these side effects is that they are completely reversible. Needless to say, resveratrol in high dosages may not be advisable and a moderate dosage is best especially when trying a new supplement.
The person’s weight should also be considered in determining dosage guidelines. Studies have proven that it would take around 4.9 mg for every kilogram of body weight for resveratrol to be effective in creating the same healthy effects as from a calorie restricted diet. For example, a 334 mg dosage should be recommended to an individual weighing 150 pounds. The effects of taking the recommended resveratrol dosage may not easily be noticeable, but given the research placed unto it, people can expect healthier bodies and longer lives.
However promising the health benefits of resveratrol seem to be, there is no sufficient information to date regarding its long term effects. It is also extremely important to consider the theory that resveratrol may possibly encourage breast cancer formation due to its chemical structure being closely similar to that of phytoestrogen. However, despite this negative assumption, the weighty positive effects that resveratrol can bring to the human body are reasons strong enough for people to continue wanting to benefit from its use.
In the end, the individuals shall be the ones to assess the resveratrol dosage suitable for their needs. The safest method would be to take lower dosages which can be gradually increased over a period of time. Resveratrol is one antioxidant that can help prolong precious lives, and drinking this fountain of life is one wise move.

Adam Clark asked:
Resveratrol has been the subject of some of the most exciting anti-aging and cardiovascular research in decades. It’s a high potency, all natural supplement that helps to provide high levels of powerful naturally occurring antioxidants.
Resveratrol has been in the media spotlight on such TV programs as the famous CBS 60 Minutes interview, ABC news and more recently The Oprah Winfrey Show. It helps to protect the body against cardiovascular disease and has an anti-aging effect, two of the major concerns for health care as we age.
What Are the Health Benefits of Resveratrol?
Several research studies suggest that foods such as peanuts, mulberries, cranberries, grapes (red wine), etc. that’s high in the antioxidant resveratrol may reduce the risks of coronary heart disease, cardiovascular disease and pre-mature aging. And it can provide more effective protection than the popular well known antioxidants vitamins C and E.
The effect resveratrol that’s found in red wine is one of the explanations given for what’s become known as the “French paradox”. The French eat a diet that’s notoriously high in fat, the same as the Scottish people. Yet the French have one of the lowest occurrences of cardiovascular disease, while the Scottish people have one of the highest. The answer that researchers have given is that the French tend to drink more red wine (made from grape skins), which of course is abundant with resveratrol. It appears to do a remarkable job.
Modern technology seems to have added to the problems of cardiovascular disease with saturated fats, trans fatty acids, processed foods, fast foods, etc. While technology has improved cardiovascular problems have increased. The powerful antioxidants contained in the skin of grapes, resveratrol in particular, appears to offset some of the effects by lowering the bad cholesterol (LDL) while raising the good cholesterol (HDL) in our bodies.
Antioxidants helps to minimize the damage done to the body from oxygen free radicals. It also plays a crucial role in pre-mature aging, as we age and the body begins to weaken and antioxidants protects against heart disease, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and other diseases that attacks a body and muscles that has weakened with age.
Resveratrol is being touted as a dietary anti-aging solution, and while age related problems are of major importance, just as important, maybe even more, is the extra protection it provides promoting good cardiovascular health.
The Eastern philosophy is prevention, while in the West it’s curing the disease. While the both sides are merging and giving us the best of both worlds, as a former stroke victim I can personally attest that Eastern philosophy of prevention is of critical importance, in order to cure a health problem you need to first have it. Also that it’s possible to be physically fit and not healthy at the same time. Don’t find out the hard way.

Sara J. Banks asked:
Resveratrol is proving to be one of the most promising breakthroughs for abundant health. Modern science, after years of research, is verifying the amazing anti-aging benefits attributed to resveratrol. Minimal negative resveratrol side effects are greatly over shadowed by the overwhelming amount of research showing its positive effects.
Some volunteer participants taking mega doses of resveratrol have noted negative side effects, including diarrhea, abnormal blood tests, over thinning of the blood, headaches, and anxiety. These side effects are reversible, but it’s recommended to increase dosages gradually, taking into consideration your body size and current health.
Resveratrol has mild estrogenic activity that has not been evaluated in humans yet, so it’s a good idea to consult with your physician if you have estrogen-sensitive conditions to avoid any possible adverse side effects. Additionally, people on blood thinning medication, since resveratrol is a blood thinner, should get their doctors recommendation before considering resveratrol use. If you’re on prescription medication, it’s always a good idea to check with your health practitioner. Moral, if you have any serious health issues, talk with your doctor first.
Compared to the relatively few negative side effects noted above, there is an abundance of positive side effects. Studies show more and more diversity of benefits to a vast number of today’s most common diseases of aging.
Examples:
Diabetes – The Cell Metabolism journal, published in October 2007, cites research conducted at the Chinese Academy of Science indicating that resveratrol may help prevent the onset of Type II Diabetes, which affects over 170 million people worldwide. Endurance – According to an earlier study published online in Cell, resveratrol boosts endurance and limits weight gain. Obesity – Resveratrol demonstrates potential of fighting off the development of fat cells, both by preventing weight gain and stopping some health problems caused by obesity. This was discovered by a team of scientists from the University of Ulm in southwest Germany. Alzheimer’s – Researchers have learned that resveratrol appears to be one of the most powerful substances ever discovered for both the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s. (Source: Alternatives, p.46, December 2007) Brain Damage – According to John Hopkins University, researchers have found resveratrol can help minimize brain damage that can transpire following a stroke. Pancreatic Cancer – Resveratrol deactivates the mitochondria of pancreatic cells, making chemotherapy more effective, according to scientists at the University of Rochester.
Resveratrol supplements have been used for many years now with no major negative side effects reported. Instead, the positive effects of resveratrol take center stage. Users report greater energy, mental clarity and better sleep. Science shows lowered cholesterol, prolonged life spans in test animals, anti tumor and anti cancer development properties, metabolic balance, and anti microbial and anti fungal properties.
If you were to be able to view the positive and negative side effects on a balance in front of you, clearly the positive out weighs the negative significantly. It would appear the future for resveratrol is bright.

Mark David Peters asked:
Undoubtedly this herbal extract from grapes or other botanical sources will continue to be widely acclaimed. Its potential health benefits are endless. It is even billed as an anti-aging pill.
Many brands of resveratrol pills are promoted, with new brands popping up frequently. But the manufacturers of these pills often make disease claims that are forbidden by the FDA, and borrow science that was conducted in a lab dish to claim their products are equivalent to research-grade resveratrol.
To date, there are no published human studies involving resveratrol supplements, only population studies of red wine drinkers who obtain resveratrol from their favorite beverage.
Resveratrol Degrades Rapidly
Laboratory researchers know that, once extracted from a botanical source, resveratrol is unstable, subject to degradation by light, heat and oxygen. Exposure to light can cause resveratrol to photo-isomerize, that is, change into a different molecule – from trans to cis resveratrol. [Se Pu 22:583-8, 2004; J Chromatography A 1074:133-8, 2005]
It is trans- resveratrol that activates the sirtuin 1 gene involved in DNA repair and which is believed to produce the anti-aging benefits of resveratrol.
Harvard researchers, who initially reported on the potential health benefits of resveratrol in 2003, have continually indicated most resveratrol dietary supplements are useless.
This is being ignored by the supplement makers. There is little effort taken to preserve resveratrol, other than place it in a dark bottle, once it is extracted.
One new brand makes the deceptive claim that it provides 400 milligrams of “red wine extract” per capsule — but that is not resveratrol, it is powder from red grapes.
When tested by an independent laboratory, the 400 milligram red wine extract provided less than 1 milligram of resveratrol per capsule. The manufacturer’s website even unfairly maligns its competitors, stating: “It’s shocking to see formulas that have as little as FIVE milligrams of red wine extract in them – that’s a major rip-off!”
Resveratrol, like many other dietary supplements, including vitamin C, can degrade upon exposure to the elements. Special encapsulation techniques must be employed to preserve polyphenols like resveratrol.
One brand of resveratrol, Longevinex, encapsulates resveratrol in an airtight opaque capsule (Licaps, Capsugel) which is then placed in a foil-sealed package and has been tested to maintain its contents without degradation for over a year.
Anticipate resveratrol pills to continue to be widely promoted, but when it comes to actually getting trans-resveratrol in a supplement, it’s a hit and miss proposition.

Mo Devine asked:
Resveratrol powder is not your best choice for supplementation. The powders are expensive, and the majority of them are derived from Japanese knotweed or polygonum cuspidatum, the plant’s scientific name. Most people have heard of this antioxidant because it is present in the skins of red grapes and in all varieties of red wine.
The content of these natural sources varies, of course, but don’t let the supplement companies’ claims fool you. All red wine has some resveratrol content. It may be small, but mega-doses are not always better.
The reason that companies use Japanese knotweed is that it is cheaper and more concentrated. There’s nothing wrong with a supplement that is derived from this source, but there is something wrong with taking 500-1500mg per day, which is what some of the supplement companies recommend.
You see, there is another compound found in knotweed. It’s called emodin. Emodin is a laxative. According to one manufacturer, their powders contain 10% emodin.
So at 500-1500mg per day, you would be getting 50-150mg of emodin. For someone who needs a laxative, 20 to 50mg of emodin is effective.
For a manufacture to recommend that you take this much resveratrol powder per day is irresponsible. The daily use of laxatives has a negative side effect: Your body becomes dependent on them. If you are irregular, increased fiber and water intake is what you need. Ask any doctor.
500-1500mg of the extract provides 100mg to 300mg of resveratrol per day. The recommendations that I trust are for 50mg per day of the total extract, which provides 25mg of trans-resveratrol, the form that can cross through the intestine and enter the bloodstream, if the supplement has an enteric coating.
One reason that the recommended dosages of resveratrol powder are so high is that manufacturers know that stomach acid has a negative affect on the supplement, rendering it all but useless to the human body.
They believe that if a person takes a higher dosage, “some” of the antioxidant will enter the bloodstream. But there’s no real reason to believe that.
You might get 25mg of trans-resveratrol circulating in the bloodstream by taking 500-1500mg of resveratrol powder per day, but you might not. You certainly would experience the laxative affect. So, you better stay close to the bathroom.
Knotweed is a natural source of trans-resveratrol. In fact, it was actually first identified in this medicinal plant. Knotweed has natural antibiotic activity. Resveratrol was identified as the component that provided this effect.
In reasonable amounts, when an enteric coating is included and it is combined with other nutrients, trans-resveratrol is a good choice for supplementation. It may help prevent heart disease, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, obesity and cancer.
It has been shown to extend the lifespan of short-lived creatures and it could have the same effect on us humans. We’ll have to wait and see on that.
If there were nothing else wrong with a resveratrol powder, it wouldn’t be the best value for your money. You see, it simply does not contain enough nutrients.

Danny Fredricks asked:
Who else wants to know about real resveratrol effects on the body? If you are reading this right now, and are concerned about your health and well fare, I’m going to guess you probably already have a loose idea about resveratrol research, and how it MAY be able to help you live longer, live healthier and live HAPPIER as well. But if you aren’t entirely sure about the real effects of resveratrol, yet, your interested in learning more…..this article was written with you in mind!
Filed Under: OK… so how is resveratrol supposed to help my health?
Well, the truth is, scientists are NOT yet completely sure. What they do know, for certain, are the effects that resveratrol has in laboratory experiments, most notably on animal subjects. In many trials, this mysterious compound has given “new life” to mice, rats, fish and even fruit flies! Scientists have studied the “caloric restriction” effect that resveratrol seems to have as well, which means that even when fed an ordinary diet, animals supplemented with resveratrol seem to “mimic” the effect of being on a strict diet, which is one of the hallmarks of healthy life and life extension as well.
What about cancer and serious disease? Will resveratrol help to cure me of grave illness?
There is NOT enough conclusive proof to say for sure, but clearly, at this point, you would not want to “count” on this style treatment for anything that is life threatening, or potentially very grave. With that said, there have been amazing insights with resveratrol and cancer, with some widely reported clinical trials showing that supplementation seems to kill breast cancer cells in a test tube, and some equally significant findings in men suffering from prostate cancer as well. (please note: While encouraging, these remain yet to be proven in repeatable trials with real bodies like ours, so don’t get TOO enthusiastic just yet!)

Ingrid Gillette asked:
Resveratrol is said to be a naturally occurring antioxidant found in the skin of red grapes, blueberries, cranberries, nuts and red wine. Studies have shown it prevents estrogen from causing breast cancer. A big risk of breast cancer is too much exposure to estrogen and most research has been looking on the co-mingling between estrogen and the reaction of its receptors on breast cancers. Resveratrol and cancer is an ongoing research that should be able to of great benefit to mankind in the future.
Resveratrol is capable of preventing the initial step that takes place when estrogen begins the procedure that go towards cancer development. Researcher Rogan says “He believes that this could stop the whole progression that leads to breast cancer somewhere down the road.”
Studies in this arena is vigorously ongoing and it has also being shown that when the body’s system gets out of balance while processing estrogen, metabolites that are dangerous shows up. The compounds which are toxic in nature will react with DNA in the cells found in the breasts causing tumor growths to begin.
Resveratrol and cancer has very hopeful signs. Keeping metabolites from interacting with DNA, a dosage of 10 micromoles per liter would significantly help in this regard.
Resveratrol taken in the right concentration can accomplish great healing as you know it has awesome healing properties and work to heal various health conditions such as: Diabetes, cancer and weight loss.
Getting the necessary amount of resveratrol in your daily diet is not possible from drinking red wine and eating blueberries, nuts, cranberries and purple grape juice. However additional benefits of this great substance can be achieved from taking a supplement that has a high concentration of this substance.
When purchasing any supplement to enhance your health you want to make sure it is manufactured by a company that sticks to the highest standard, ensuring that you will truly benefit.
Finding pure, quality supplements made with natural ingredients can be difficult sometimes, since there are so many being advertised everyday, consumers are bombarded with different products from different companies all claiming to be the best. But how can you tell.
I have done my own research on all the tiny details of these supplements to ensure they deliver on their promise. I can tell you that the ingredients contained in this brand of supplement far outweigh any other that I have encountered in my years of doing these researches.
If you truly would like to slow down the aging process of the cells in your body, thereby prolonging life along with health, and to learn more about resveratrol and cancer, visit my website where I have gathered a lot of information to help you make a very important decision for you and your family’s health.

Faith Lehane asked:
In 2006 new research was published regarding resveratrol health benefits. It concluded that resveratrol benefits included improving overall health and protecting against health related issues that exist because of diets high in fat.
These studies were done to show the overall effectiveness as well as highlight the benefits of resveratrol. The health benefits of resveratrol include protecting against diets which are high in fat, weight loss properties, and a range of aging properties.
Resveratrol can be naturally found in red wine, peanuts, and even grape juice. All of this was discovered by experimenting on middle aged male mice.
The main experiment was completed with three sets of mice. Once basic control group, one group with a high fat diet, and one group with a high fat diet along with high doses of resveratrol.
The group of mice that were solely on a high fat diet gained weight and the group of mice that were on a high fat diet along with receiving the resveratrol benefits showed zero signs of insulin resistance or fatty livers, both of which were common in the group solely on a fatty diet. This group which received resveratrol also lived much longer and had a much higher level of energy.
These benefits have been credited as the foundation of the French Paradox. It is a common occurrence for all French peoples to drink a glass of red wine with each meal. It was then discovered that the French also are much less likely to have heart disease regardless of a high fat diet.
Having a glass of red wine with your meals is the same as a .5% dose of resveratrol that was received by mice in the experiments. Even though the experiment was done only on mice it is very safe to be taken by humans as well. You can get the health benefits in both supplemental doses and concentrated doses.
By eating one meal a day that is high in fat can significantly add to the bad cholesterol that is in your body and steadily decrease your health over a period of time. This is where the resveratrol benefits can help. They will help improve your health over the long run.
The resvertrol health benefits are similar to restricting your caloric intake. Benefits of resveratrol keep both the heart and skin from aging as quickly. This naturally occurring antioxidant that is the key to slowing down the aging process as well as create a barrier against disease.
